NAKED & FAMOUS / GERHARD SS2018 TRUNK SHOW
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE TORONTO DESIGN OFFSITE FESTIVAL
On January 16, 2018 we showcased the Spring/Summer 2018 collection from Naked & Famous Denim and hosted an unusual performance : "Denim Origami", as the show was titled, was held in partnership with the Toronto Design Offsite Festival, presented by Keilhauer and Herman Miller.
"Denim Origami" brought Montreal’s Brandon Svarc to us for a night of raw denim origami & textile talk. Visitors were able to preview the Spring 2018 collection well ahead of its official release date and received a unique piece of raw denim origami, prepared specially for them on the spot by Svarc, to take home with any denim purchases. We also created an exclusive raw denim origami window installation for the event, featuring the work of several Japanese masters.
Naked & Famous is a Montreal denim maker that uses exclusively high character, high quality, traditionally loomed Japanese selvedge denim, designed to fade beautifully and develop personality with wash & wear. They are known for their classic, high value core offerings, but also for their crazier fabrics, developed in partnership with their mills; think glow-in-the-dark, scratch-and-sniff and cashmere denim, to name a few.
Special thanks to When The Pig Came Home and Junction Craft Brewery for Catering this event, and to Big Pig Production Co. for documenting.
Thank you to all of our friends, customers, and passers by for making the event such a pleasure to host.
